Woman leads the Corona Fight #Together_we_can

Silver lining amid the Covid-19 darkness.

As India is fighting with all its might against Corona threat a Pune based scientist Minal Dakhave Bhosale developed India’s first Covid kit in just six weeks.

India has been criticised and is struggling due to the lesser number of test kits to verify the dreaded virus among the huge population.

The Pune-based diagnostic firm Mylabs developed the country’s first testing kit this week.
The development of this kit is a critical breakthrough and is way cheaper than the present ones. This crucial benchmark in India’s fight against the Covid-19 virus is dedicated to one virologist who delivered on a working test kit, hours before delivering her baby!

According to BBC, the breakthrough came under Mylab’s research and development chief, Minal Dakhave Bhosale, who along with her team developed the coronavirus testing kit named Patho Detect, in just six weeks.

The scientist was also battling with another deadline– she was carrying her baby and was working on this project during her last trimester of pregnancy. Minal Bhosale began work on the programme in February, just days after leaving the hospital with pregnancy complications.

“It was an emergency, so I took this on as a challenge. I had to serve my nation,” she said, adding that her team of 10 worked “very hard” to make the project a success.

She submitted the kit to the National Institute of Virology (NIV) for evaluation on March 18th, just a day before delivering her daughter!

India’s first coronavirus testing kit hit Indian markets on Thursday, in a bid to increase the frequency of testing and to confirm or rule out the Covid-19 infection.

Talking to Hindustan Times Minal told “Our kit gives the diagnosis in two and a half hours while the imported testing kits take six-seven hours”.

Minal represented the finest example of how a woman can work under extreme conditions.

On Saturday, BCC featured a story, titled ‘Coronavirus: The woman behind India’s first testing kit’, on the research and development chief of the Pune-based company.

The high and mighties are in awe of this gritty new mom.
Anand Mahindra lauded Bhosale’s efforts. Quoting the news of the virologist, the Mahindra Group Chairman wrote, “You not only delivered the test kit and your baby but you also delivered a ray of hope to the country”.

We the editorial team on behalf of the whole country with good health to the new mom and her baby.

The scenario is part of history in making and we are proud to be lead by the strongest of warriors cradling the new baby and protecting nation all along.
