Coming from the generation with a staple of Banegi Apni Baat which had a bunch of the finest actors and Irfan Khan was a part of the era when the craft was going through a transformation. Playing a father who was way cooler than what we knew as a father figure!
He is an actor who lived in the character and for those few minutes or hours, you tend to forget his name and only character is alive!
He played characters and then he became one of us.
I guess that’s the reason for his going away is pinching people as if we lost one of us. Not a star but someone who gave hope to millions that road might be longer but you will reach for sure.
A profession where traditional good looks mattered most, Irfan Khan was a classic example of Tall dark and handsome with eyes who spoke to the world!
I have never looked to create an image where people fall in love with my face or style. Yes, it does cross my mind but I’ve been trying to create a space for myself where I don’t depend on that.
A student of the National School of Drama and Padma Shri Awardee actor made a niche for himself.
